Why cover Java technology?
Microsoft .NET Framework, ASP.NET, Visual C# (CSharp, C Sharp, C-Sharp) Developer Training, Visual Studio
Since C# Online.NET is primarily a .NET and C# site, some purists might question why we would cover Java articles, Java book reviews, and Java technology news.
Why write Java articles?
Many of our more experienced C# programmers are, also, Java programmers. In fact, they were Java programmers first. After all, Java programmers have been at this since 1995. So, we need to provide articles comparing the Java and C# languages for them, as well as for C# programmers who find themselves working on Java projects because of their C# experience.
Why write Java book reviews?
We review Java books for the same reasons we write Java articles (stated above). Plus, Java source code is very readable for C# programmers. This means we can benefit from the many excellent Java books available. For example, whereas C# and .NET books rarely mention or illustrate design patterns, Java books are rife with them.
Why report Java technology news?
We cover Java technology news when it has the potential to impact the .NET world. The .NET and Java technologies are in an arms race which affects both sides. For example, one current issue of interest to .NET developers is the possible open sourcing of Java technology.
