XP Principle 7: Make a Small Initial Investment

Because customers will sometimes bring projects that are large in scope, it can be tempting for the development organization to build a large team from the start and try to tackle all of the scope. The small initial investment principle of XP says to keep your initial resources and work load small. If you absolutely must grow bigger, do it as the project progresses; don’t start off large.
