 Term Common Language Runtime
 Definition  CLR is the .NET runtime environment responsible for program execution management and for providing container services—debugging, exception management, memory management, profiling, and security. The CLR is a major subsystem in the .NET Framework which implements the Common Type System. Also called the Virtual Execution System (VES).
